| St John’s College
and Chundikuli Girls College Jaffna are well-known
institutions in Sri Lanka. The Old Boys Association
of St John’s College Jaffna was formed in
1904 while Chundikuli Girls College was
formed in 1913 In addition to the OBA/OGA in Jaffna
there are OBA/OGA's in Colombo and several
other OBA/OGA in various part of the world where
there are large number of past pupils of both schools
have migrated. The OBA/OGA operates and functions
independently under the guidance and patronage of
the school’s principals. |
| The St John’s / Chundikuli
Past Pupils Association in Toronto was formed in
1988 by the past pupils of both schools. More
than 300 past pupils attended the first meeting
and the constitution was adopted. The objective
of the Association is to connect its past pupils
with their alma mater and to maintain social interaction
with old boys and girls. Toronto Past Pupils Association
has helped in many ways to both schools during the
difficult times of re-construction and upgrading
school buildings and providing equipments for
information technology lab etc. |
| The Past Pupils association
in Toronto organizes Dinner- Dances, Variety Entertainments,
and Movies annually and profits are remitted to
both the schools. Carol Service, Vanni Vizha, Picnic
are also held every year to create the sense
of fellowship and goodwill among the past pupils
of both schools. St Johns - Central Cricket match,
the JSSA netball tournament are association’s
annual event besides those mentioned above. |
| Every Old Johnian, Chundikulite
who is not an Association member is invited to join
the Association by contacting one of our committee
members. At the same time we invite everyone to
visit our web site and voice his or her opinion
and suggestions. |
